Usonic was born out of a passion for Jazz and World Music. The musicians involved have worked closely with many artists in different genres, including: James Brown, Michael Jackson, Sting, Robert Palmer, Tina Turner, Ray Charles, and Billy Ocean.
The Usonic band members have their musical influences firmly rooted in modern Jazz mixed with grooves and harmonies from Africa, India, South America and many more.
Usonic worked with Mike Mainieri from Steps Ahead on the Yin Yang Album, and reviews of the album highlighted their track ‘Agitate the Gravel’ as the stand out tune.
When Usonic worked on their first album Evolution they were joined by Scott Kinsey and Scott Henderson of the great fusion band Tribal Tech. The group was nominated for best jazz act at the MOBO awards in 2011. Usonic have written two albums Evolution and Diversion both receiving 10/10 reviews in jazz wise and blues and soul magazines.
Usonic are currently finishing the last touches to their new album which they hope to release later this year.
